Strategies for teaching students who are deaf and hard of hearing:

 

Sign- Language Dictionary:

  • American Sign Language Browser- videos and descriptive text of thousands of words in American Sign Language are available for reference purposes. (QuickTime plug-in is required).

  • HandSpeak- a subscription website with ALS dictionary, lessons and resources.

 

Sign-Language and Literacy: 

  • Signed Stories-  has many children's books that are read with a sign language interpreter on the screen!

  • Reading and Sign Language-  teachings deaf and hard of hearing children how to read vocabulary, science experiments, math word problems, etc., by having someone sign all of the captions and explain it.
